Friends at Heartland Honorary Council

The Executive Director and the staff, as well as our two boards of directors, develop an annual list of potential honorary council candidates to be voted on and approved by the two boards.

Nominees should have the desire and capability to make a significant contribution to further the mission of the organization, whether it be in fundraising, support for special events, advice on legislative or governmental and legal issues, program development, and any unforeseen problems and concerns that may arise.

Candidates can be past board members, regular financial contributors, prominent friends, mental health professionals, in addition to potential prospects known to staff and boards that would add needed expertise. New members of the Honorary Council are inducted at the Friends at Heartland annual celebration. Inductees must be present at the event or forego their induction until the following year.
