Want to celebrate Spring like you did as a kid? Join us at the Heartland Mental Health drop-in center for a Spring Social! Eat pizza and socialize with old friends while making new ones! Then participate in an all-ages egg hunt, or simply cheer on your friends!

Do you love making things with your hands? Do you enjoy glitter, glue, and maybe a little mess? Then join the Crafty Crew!
This is the place to make cool crafts and have fun!
We use different materials to create awesome projects you can take home.
You don't have to be a craft expert—we'll learn new things together!

Nickel-a-Play
Miss the classic arcade experience? Join us for a fun afternoon at Nickel-a-Play arcade and hang out with friends while playing pinball, air hockey, skeeball, and many other games! Meet at Heartland at 12:30pm for transportation. $3 for unlimited play!

Afternoon Movie
Feel like attending an activity but aren’t up for too much socializing? Join us for a relaxing afternoon movie. Snacks provided. Repeats every third Monday unless we’re closed for a holiday. April’s movie is 21 Jump Street.

Silent Reading
Enjoy reading, but need some company? Join us for silent reading hour. Bring your own book—or magazine, or whatever you want to read—and settle in to read among friends. There will be time at the end for an optional discussion about what you read. Reading materials available.

Heartland Community Craft Fair
Heartland Community Craft Fair will feature crafts made by our members and other local artisans to celebrate Mental Health Awareness month in our beautiful yard on the corner of 12th Ave and Washington St. The event will feature live screen-printing (BYO-shirt or purchase a blank T shirt at the event!), food and drink, music, and local vendors who support the mental health community! Everyone is invited to attend!

Cathy Rubin’s Memorial Service
Heartland was privileged to have Cathy Rubin as our Dental Program Coordinator from May 2013-September 2025, when she retired this past fall. Her Memorial Service will be Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm MT, at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service, 1091 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80246.
Margie's Retirement Party

Heartland Cookout and Screen-Printing for Mental Health Awareness Month!
May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and Heartland needs your support!
🍔🌭🩵 FREE FOOD!
Join us on May 13, anytime between 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM, for a relaxing outdoor celebration in our beautiful backyard. We'll have delicious food and drinks, music curated by our members, lawn games, and live screen-printing!
🎨 How It Works:
👕 Bring your own clothing — shirts, jackets, hoodies, or tote bags work best.
🖼️ Choose a design — selected by Heartland members to raise awareness and help destigmatize mental health support.
🎨🖌️ Pick your color — artist and mental health advocate Joe Blablazo will screen-print your design live on our patio!
✅ Take it home same day — printed clothing will be dry and ready to go during the cookout. (Designs are permanent, high-quality, and washable after two days.)
❓Don’t have a blank shirt?
We’ll have shirts available for purchase on-site, but sizes and colors are limited — come early for the best selection.
Suggested donation: $10 per printed item.
Heartland members receive one design free!

Final designs may vary! Live screen-printing can create “imperfections” that allow each piece to be unique and interesting. Some designs may be brighter or darker based on the material of the clothing or the color of the ink. Please make sure that any piece of clothing that you bring is one that you are willing to have altered with a permanent design.

Heartland Hangout
You're invited to a luncheon at the historic 11th Avenue Hostel on November 14 to meet others from the Capitol Hill neighborhood and learn more about the programs we offer.
Join us anytime between 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM for a relaxed, drop-in event featuring complimentary food, coffee, and great conversation with neighbors, local businesses, and Heartland community members.
Located just a few blocks from our clinic, the 11th Avenue Hostel is a welcoming space where we’ll share insights about the mental health resources available in downtown Denver. Whether you’re a long-time friend of Heartland or just curious to learn more, we’d love for you to stop by and say hello – even if it’s just for a few moments.
