Join us for Art for Mental Health, an evening celebrating creativity and connection. Enjoy meaningful conversation while learning more about Heartland and how our programs help people find hope, belonging, and community.

We’ll also recognize current and welcome new members of the Friends of Heartland Honorary Council, honoring community leaders and supporters whose commitment helps expand access to mental health services.

Includes the guided creative experience, light bites, and mocktails.
Main Event & Dinner Reception — $95
Includes an Ethiopian dinner, drinks (beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options), and evening program.

Create & Connect Experience

Come early for a one-hour guided creative experience led by Haley Abrams, LCSW, a local artist and social worker who believes art is for everyone. With a background in both fine arts and mental health, Haley brings together creativity, connection, and emotional well-being in her work.

Using Haley’s hand-cut stencils and metallic paints, you’ll create your own colorful greeting card to share with someone in your life. Play with color, pattern, and design while enjoying a relaxed opportunity to connect with others and experience the joy of making something beautiful.

No artistic experience is needed. Haley will guide you through the process, so just come as you are, get creative, and have fun!

Main Program & Dinner Reception

Enjoy an Ethiopian dinner, meaningful conversation, and opportunities to connect while hearing updates from Heartland and celebrating members of the Friends of Heartland Honorary Council.

Throughout the evening, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative photo mosaic. Add your own words or drawings to an individual square, then watch as everyone's contributions come together to create one larger piece of art. Participation is optional.

Getting There & Parking

Please note that there is currently construction along Colfax Avenue. The street remains open, but we recommend allowing a little extra travel time.

Parking: Free parking is available in the Carla Madison Recreation Center parking lot. View parking map here. Space may be limited, with additional street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood.

Public Transportation: Carla Madison Recreation Center is conveniently located near the Colfax & Josephine RTD stop, served by the 15L.
